Course Description:
Stepping into the pulpit is a big step. This course is designed to equip people responding to the call to take that step with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to craft and deliver sermons which matter. Covering both the theological foundations and practical techniques of preaching, participants will learn how to go from the text to the pulpit with clarity and conviction.

Through a combination of lectures, group work, and practical exercises, students will explore different sermon styles, develop their unique preaching voice, and learn how to preach in a variety of contexts. Due to the interactive nature of preaching, this class is a hybrid, with both online and in-person classes.
Please note: the in-person meeting location(s) will be chosen based on where is convenient for the participants who register.

This course is open to potential preaching elders, commissioned pastors, and all who want to improve their preaching and worship leadership skills.

Course Instructor: Rev. Dirk Gieser, Pastor of the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Castleton.

Cost: $300. Registration and payment deadline: April 12, 2025.
